Google Business Profile Integration
If you choose to connect your Google Business Profile to Sentiments, we access certain data from Google to provide our review verification services. This section explains what data we access, how we use it, and your choices.
Data We Access from Google (Business Owners)
When you connect your Google Business Profile, we request access to:
- Business locations: Your Google Business Profile location names and IDs to enable review monitoring
- Reviews: Customer reviews posted to your Google Business Profile, including reviewer name, profile photo URL, rating, review text, and date
Data We Access from Google (Advocates)
When advocates connect their Google account for review verification, we request:
- Basic profile information: Name, email address, and profile photo URL
- Google account ID: A unique identifier to match reviews to advocates
How We Use Google Data
- Review verification: We match advocate Google profiles to reviews posted on your business locations to automatically verify completed review tasks
- Points attribution: When a match is found, we award points to the advocate who posted the review
- Analytics: We provide aggregated statistics about reviews (count, average rating) in your dashboard
What We Do NOT Do with Google Data
- We do not sell Google user data to third parties
- We do not use Google data for advertising purposes
- We do not share Google data with data brokers
- We do not use Google data to determine creditworthiness
- We do not allow humans to read your data except for security purposes or with your explicit consent
Data Storage and Retention
- OAuth access tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption
- Google profile data is retained only while your integration is active
- When you disconnect your Google account, we delete your OAuth tokens and cached Google data within 24 hours
- Review match data (which advocate posted which review) is retained for your records but Google profile data is removed
Disconnecting Google
You can disconnect your Google Business Profile at any time from your dashboard Settings. You can also revoke Sentiments' access directly from your Google Account permissions page. When disconnected:
- We immediately stop accessing your Google Business Profile data
- Your OAuth tokens are deleted within 24 hours
- Cached review and profile data is removed
- Historical task completion records remain for your advocacy program analytics
Sentiments' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
